My daughter is allergic to dairy and soy and I hate rice dream. So I do coconut milk yogurt and ice cream. :)MamaCathttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01028195847269742351noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8357277541662100639.post-51967126003631763792008-04-23T05:39:00.000-07:002008-04-23T05:39:00.000-07:00Sigh. They don't even label (the last time I looked) for the peanut flavoring in their Tofutti Cuties, claiming (the last time I called)that there was no peanut proteins in it. Still, I've heard a report of a peanut allergic kid anaphylaxing after eating a peanut-flavored Cutie.

To top it off, we'd decided to avoid the Tofutti ice-creams and to stick with their cheeses and cream cheese, but we went to Hugh Sampson's clinic in NY - and there we were told that Tofutti has a history of turning up with dairy traces in it! So that's it for me, folks - I'm Tofutti'd out.ZMhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04469113104449353180noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8357277541662100639.post-6328051792575224842008-04-14T21:30:00.000-07:002008-04-14T21:30:00.000-07:00Did you see their allergen page? Sorry I don't want to rain on this parade, but I remember seeing this brand in Wegman's and thought I'd found gold and I couldn't get it because it said "This product was produced on equipment that also processes peanuts, tree nuts and dairy products."...which is on their OLD labeling and now their new labeling doesn't include this info, refers you to their website and they still share equipment. Be sure to read their allergen page online. Apparently this is under the optional labeling requirements. So basically they want us to buy it at the store and then find out later that it's produced on shared equipment...Maria Hhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13338704585277061823noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8357277541662100639.post-51232058179865903302008-04-14T19:18:00.000-07:002008-04-14T19:18:00.000-07:00I was so happy to find the Vanilla/Strawberry Cuti...I was so happy to find the Vanilla/Strawberry Cuties for the same reason as Angie...the less mess factor! What on earth does Tofutti put into their chocolate wafers that makes them stick like brown super-glue to toddler fingers and under the fingernails!Speedbump Kitchenhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10203829185582355186noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8357277541662100639.post-1001092657824288382008-04-14T19:02:00.000-07:002008-04-14T19:02:00.000-07:00I LOVED the Turtle Mountain stuff when I had to be...I LOVED the Turtle Mountain stuff when I had to be dairy-free for my eldest daughter....now my youngest has a soy allergy so its strictly Rice Cream for me :( I did love their chocolate/peanut butter kind...mmmm, it was so good!Julie Bhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10756027352301963565noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8357277541662100639.post-29596973970815370942008-04-14T11:41:00.000-07:002008-04-14T11:41:00.000-07:00I *loved* my Tiffuti Cuties and Purely Decadent in...I *loved* my Tiffuti Cuties and Purely Decadent indulgences when I was doing the dairy-free stuff but hadn't thought about other allergens. I was able to find it at safeway, giant and bloom if you want to check the stores near you for other flavor options. Also, I went to their website and signed up for coupons which made it an even less guilty indulgence. :)Carol Amiehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06721461746958168684noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8357277541662100639.post-82999592427924902582008-04-14T08:22:00.000-07:002008-04-14T08:22:00.000-07:00I like that brand too. My mom found some Tofutti Cuties that were strawberry with vanilla wafers on the outside (so much less messy than the chocolate ones).

Angie (from AllAdither.com)Angie McCullaghhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13338130265872869124noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8357277541662100639.post-38448843730582341712008-04-13T19:13:00.000-07:002008-04-13T19:13:00.000-07:00I agree with the Turtle Mountain products, they ac...I agree with the Turtle Mountain products, they actually taste good! Tofutti is good if you're an allergic kid and that's all you've had, but it tastes pretty odd to me. The vanilla Tofutti tastes like frozen Duncan Hines frosting (also dairy free).... sooo sweet! I've enjoyed your blog, by the way, keep it up!Speedbump Kitchenhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10203829185582355186noreply@blogger.com
